The reason I show up each day are the 26 young people I share a room and my heart with.  This is new year for all of us.  I had looped with my last class so the beginning of the year was scary for all.  But the funniest thing happened.  By Day 2 I thought I had known these kids forever.  There wasn’t an awkward beginning. I am not sure what that will mean in a few weeks, is this the honeymoon or is this for real?  I believe it is the real deal.  So here’s to a wonderful year with smiles and laughter and of course tons of learning.
